Paper Mirchi

Paper Mirchi is an award-winning UK-based stationery and gifting brand founded by Rani Moochhala. They specialize in ethically made, eco-friendly packaging, greeting cards, and lifestyle accessories. All products are handcrafted by artisans in Rajasthan, India, using 100% tree-free recycled cotton and traditional block-printing or marbling.

The beauty of their products lies in the story, the process and the people behind it.

Paper making is an ancient skill in India. The artisans are incredibly passionate about their craft which has been passed down through generations and Paper Mirchi continues to work with these small family-run units in the state of Rajasthan, India. The cotton rags and textile scraps are chopped, pulped and dyed and spread over a mesh screen. The cellulose rich fibres then bind together to form the paper. Excess water is squeezed out and each sheet is hung out to dry. The sheets are then pressed in a calendering machine to smooth out the creases

Paper Mirchi, blends a passion for creativity and design with this age old technique of paper making to produce fabulous paper that you will love! With a wealth of experience in the textile industry, they incorporate interesting printing and dyeing techniques in an array of striking colours to bring to you an exclusive product.

We live in a modern world overflowing with technology and fast production, but Paper Mirchi’s aim is to keep these age-tested processes alive and celebrate the beauty of handmade products. Blending design and colour trends with traditional artistry to create a timeless range of handcrafted papers and greeting cards, that you will love and cherish.

Paper Mirchi is a Woodland Trust Corporate Member, helping to create, restore and protect UK Woodland. They care significantly about the planet and the impact we have on it. All products are completely tree free, being made from 100% recycled cotton.

Also, Paper Mirchi proudly partners with Barnardo’s to support their ambition of building stronger families, safer childhoods and positive futures for young people.

Paper Mirchi donates end of line, out of season, damaged (but usable), or sample stock to Barnardo’s which is then sold in their charity stores. The donation of this stock helps to reduce our businesses waste, encourages recycling and avoids the use of landfill whilst importantly helping to raise vital funds for Barnardo’s which help maintain and develop their wide range of children’s services.
